How to make zalgo text
- Type a short word or name in the input box.
- Find the zalgo style in the results. It changes every time you edit the text.
- Tap Copy when you see a version you like.
- Paste it into your caption, comment, message, or nickname.
- Preview the post. Heavy marks may be cropped or overlap nearby text.
Short inputs work best. One or two words read as an effect; a full sentence becomes unreadable.

Support is less predictable than for other styles, because apps handle stacked marks in different ways.

Why zalgo text may show as boxes or plain letters
Most combining marks used for zalgo come from the Combining Diacritical Marks block, which nearly every device supports. Problems usually look different from other styles:
- Clipped marks: the app crops anything above or below the line.
- Stripped marks: the platform removes combining characters from some fields.
- Dotted circles or boxes: a font cannot attach a mark to the letter, so it shows the mark on a placeholder.
If the marks disappear, the platform likely stripped them on save. There is nothing to fix on your device.
Responsible use
Zalgo text can cover other peopleโs messages and, in very large amounts, slow down rendering on some devices. Many communities ban it in chats and names. Use it for short, deliberate effects and respect server and platform rules.
Accessibility note
Zalgo is the least accessible style on this site. Screen readers may announce each combining mark by name, so a single word can take a long time to read aloud, or the reader may skip the letters entirely. People with dyslexia or low vision may also find it hard to read visually. Never use zalgo for names others need to type, links, or any important information.
